Pay Rate: $45 – $50/hr. on W2 – All inclusive.

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine and moderate-complexity laboratory testing under the guidance of Medical Technologists and the Laboratory Supervisor. This role supports accurate and timely diagnostic testing through automated and manual procedures while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine and moderate-complexity laboratory testing under the guidance of Medical Technologists and the Laboratory Supervisor. This role supports accurate and timely diagnostic testing through automated and manual procedures while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine laboratory testing following approved procedures and departmental SOPs.
- Set up, operate, and monitor automated testing systems and pre-calibrated instruments.
- Conduct manual testing procedures requiring analytical judgment when applicable.
- Handle, process, analyze, and store specimens in accordance with laboratory policies.
- Review, verify, and release test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all testing performed on-site.
- Perform and document quality control activities, calibrations, and routine instrument maintenance.
- Ensure proficiency testing samples are handled in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Identify testing issues that may impact result accuracy and take corrective action or escalate to senior staff as appropriate.
- Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from acceptable performance standards.
- Report critical test results according to departmental procedures.
- Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled with received, opened, and expiration dates.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the laboratory department.
- Participate in reviewing and training on new testing procedures.
- Attend monthly departmental meetings and required training or educational sessions.
- Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, clinicians, or laboratory staff as applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in safety training and maintain knowledge of safety manuals and emergency equipment.
Education (Preferred):
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology OR Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
Experience:
- 1–3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Moderate-complexity testing experience a plus (training may be provided on-site)
