Job summary:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients—whether they come in as part of their health routine or for life-defining diagnostic insights.
- The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring adherence to established safety and quality standards.
- The PSR II must create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures, performing collections skillfully, and maintaining patient confidentiality and comfort.
- This role requires demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
Successful applicants may be assigned to:
- A doctor’s office.
- A patient service center..
- Other designated locations as business needs dictate
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and organized work environment.
Phlebotomy & Specimen Handling:
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and accuracy.
- Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling and identification.
- Maintain required records, logs, and documentation per company and regulatory standards.
Customer & Patient Interaction:
- Create a positive experience for patients by demonstrating empathy, respect, and professionalism.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Compliance & Quality:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including:
- Dress code
- Employee health and safety standards
- Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information
- Comply with all regulatory and procedural requirements
Job Requirements
- Proven ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible schedule—availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures and good judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent — Required.
- Phlebotomy certification.
Work Experience:
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
