Procurement Buyer II
Job Description:
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Inventory Purchasing
-
Manage selected inventory items in support of production needs
-
Analyze replenishment for commodity/special ordering and buys
-
Review order confirmations and change orders
-
Check order issues and expedite inventory items as assigned
-
Manage PO closure reports for changes/resolution
-
Maintain ongoing supply management for items (ROP/Max)
-
Follow up on vendor information requests and purchasing parts
Inventory Value – Level and Philosophy
-
Manage assigned inventory items to support production and control inventory costs throughout the entire part lifecycle, from new parts to obsolescence
Vendor Management
-
Support and align parts to corporate contract suppliers
-
Enter new supplier data and banking changes into the corporate system
-
Investigate supplier invoice issues
Accounting Interaction
-
Follow accounting requirements and direction for inventory items
-
Investigate standard cost, item codes, capital spares, transaction issues, account issues, etc.
-
Process inventory item credits and issues
-
Compile monthly purchase order follow-up reports per audit requirements
-
Resolve received-not-billed part issues with suppliers
Hours of Work / Schedule
-
Longer than an 8-hour workday may be required to accomplish all responsibilities
-
Work hours may start at 7:00 AM or end at 6:00 PM to ensure production coverage
-
Flexible lunch hour may be required for coverage
-
This is a fully in-office role; no work-from-home option is available due to production support requirements
Required Education
-
Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred, or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a Technical field
Required Experience
-
3+ years of demonstrated success in Supply Chain functions such as Storeroom, Procurement, Planning, or Customer Care
Required Skills
-
Strong team skills with the ability to function effectively as a contributing team member

Self-starter, reliable, and resourceful
-
Experience with PeopleSoft and/or SAP
-
Experience with analytical tools (Proficient in Excel preferred)
-
Effective task prioritization and multitasking ability
-
Conflict management and problem-solving skills

Strong interpersonal skills including tact, patience, flexibility, and courtesy

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across all levels

Ability to maintain composure and quality work under changing priorities and tight deadlines
