Job Location: Gretna, LA, 70056
Job uration: 1-2 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: Night Shift, 12-Hour Shifts

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides respiratory care treatments, diagnostic testing, oxygen and ventilation support for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric.
• Monitors and weans oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation.
• Draws, analyzes, and reports arterial blood gases and EKGs.
• Assists with airway management and delivers intermittent therapy.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and documents clinical information.
• Educates patients and staff on treatment plans and procedures.
• Maintains certifications and participates in staff meetings.

Education:

• Associate's Degree – Required.

Licensure & Certifications:

• State License as a Respiratory Therapist – Required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required (for NICU-trained therapists).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Credentialed as CRT or RRT.
• NICU experience – Preferred.
• Proficiency with computer systems and data entry.
• Effective communication, strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
