Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid – Onsite 3 days per week)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Role Overview:
The CAD Designer I will support product packaging design, equipment development, and validation processes. This role requires expertise in SolidWorks, GD&T, PLM systems, and project management. The candidate will be responsible for technical documentation, troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- CAD Design & Engineering: Create and manage part/assembly drawings in SolidWorks while implementing GD&T.
- Documentation & PLM Systems: Author material/purchasing specifications and manage design changes using Agile PLM.
- Testing & Validation: Develop test equipment, execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ), and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and resolve design, process, and testing issues to enhance system efficiency.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work with internal teams, present technical updates, and maintain clear documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must-Have:
- 2-5 years of SolidWorks experience (creating part/assembly files, applying GD&T).
- Experience with PLM systems (Agile) for managing change orders.
- Strong project management skills (meeting deadlines, identifying roadblocks).
- Technical writing expertise (authoring specifications, reports, and protocols).
- Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Self-driven and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, pharma, aerospace).
