Critical Care Technician
Job Title: Critical Care Technician
Location: Menomonee Falls, WI, 53051
Duration: 07/07/2025 – 10/03/2025
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Schedule: 3 days/week, 36 hours/week, every other weekend required, float as needed
Job Summary:
-
The Critical Care Technician (CCT), under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner in the Critical Care Units.

Assists patients with tasks related to basic nursing skills, personal care, restorative services, and critical care tasks as per clinical competency.

May provide continuous safety observation and uses communication models such as AIDET.

Completes hourly rounding, collaborates with healthcare team, documents abnormal findings, and completes standard handoff reports.

Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment and utilizes safety techniques like alarms and restraint alternatives.

May participate in quality improvement activities and safety initiatives.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required
-
Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalent within 6 months of hire
Licensure & Certifications:
-
Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification OR current enrollment in a nursing program with documentation of completion of basic nursing coursework and at least one acute care Med/Surg clinical rotation

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification or AHA-approved equivalent required
Required Skills & Experience:

Basic Nursing Skills: Bed making, vital signs, height/weight measurement, fluid I&O, mobility transfers

Personal Care: Bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, skin and mouth care, assistance with feeding

Restorative Services: Use of assistive and prosthetic devices, ROM exercises, positioning and transfers

Critical Care Technical Skills: Peripheral phlebotomy, vamp draws, discontinuing ART lines, POCT, and other delegated technical tasks

Relationship-Based Care: Patient-focused communication and behavior, proactive care delivery

Teamwork: Collaborates and communicates effectively with healthcare team
