Mechanical Engineer II
Duration: 12 months, possibility of extension
Pay: $50 hourly
Job Description:
Education & Experience:
-
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology
-
3+ years experience in manufacturing with a focus on the following:
-
Knowledge of web-conveyance fundamentals and proficiency in roll-to-roll web-conveyance system design
-
Knowledge of thermal equipment fundamentals and proficiency in custom thermal equipment design
-
Proficiency in structural and thermal FEA modeling
-
Travel:

Position will be on-site at Sullivan Park

Minimal travel requirements (10%)
Product of Position:
-
Mechanical engineer responsible for design & start-up/debug support of process equipment, working with a multi-functional team (process, mechanical, electrical, controls, metrology, facilities, IT, operations, etc.)
-
Involves application of mechanical principles including mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and machine design for the design, production, operation, and use of machinery
Key Responsibilities:

Design process equipment, lead procurement, and oversee as well as participate in assembly and installation
Requirements:
-
Experience with mechanical equipment engineering, design, installation, start-up, and debug in an early-stage development environment

Ability to manage and own all phases of equipment design (problem statement, conceptualization, detail design, detail drawing package)

Experience working with machine shops and managing procurement of custom equipment

Proficiency with SolidWorks and EPDM Vault

Good written and oral communication skills

Ability to collaborate with diverse teams (skills, disciplines, gender, culture, race, etc.)

Comfortable working with minimal direction and adapting to evolving requirements

Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions
-
Familiarity with other engineering disciplines (electrical, controls, process, etc.)
