Medical Assistant II

Job Title: CMA II (Medical Assistant II)
Job Location: Conroe, TX
Job Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Welcome and interact with patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner.
• Respond promptly to patient inquiries regarding appointments, wait times, and unexpected issues.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers regarding arrivals, delays, and clinic workflows.
• Proactively address patient dissatisfaction and implement service recovery measures.
• Monitor and report prolonged patient wait times to the clinic manager.
• Arrange translation services as needed.
• Participate in clinic meetings to support optimal patient flow.
• Attend staff meetings, mandatory trainings, and complete required documentation.
• Notify licensed staff or supervisors when unable to complete assigned duties.

Education & Experience:    

• Required- High School Diploma or GED.
• REQUIRED- 2 years of related experience.

• CCMA - Cert-Cert Clinical MA - CCMA National Health career Association.
• CMA-AAM - Cert-Cert Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Assistants.
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technology Texas Department of State Health Services.
• EMT-A - Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services.
• EMT-B - Emergency Medical Technology -Basic Texas Department of State Health Services.
• EMT-I - Emergency Medical Technology - Inter medical Texas Department of State Health Services.
• EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technology - Paramedical Texas Department of State Health Services.
• LIC PAR - License -Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services Or
• NCMA - National Cert Med Assistant National Center for Competency Testing Or
• NRCMA - Nat Reg Cert Med Assistant National Association of Health Professionals.
• RMA - Registered Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical assistant patient care tasks, appointment scheduling, medical terminology, and customer service practices.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and clinic/office equipment.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to make quick decisions and work independently.
• Medical Assistant II Certification – Required.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) – Preferred.

Important Notes:

• High-volume outpatient clinic environment.
• Preference for candidates with outpatient clinic experience (pediatric experience is a plus).
• Primary assignment is Gastroenterology; may support other clinics on the same floor (Dermatology, Diabetes).
