Specimen Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Title: Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I)
Location: Miramar, FL
Shift: Monday–Friday | 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Duration: 4+ months (contract)

Job Summary:
The Specimen Processing Technician I provides general support in a high-volume laboratory production environment. This role focuses on accurate data entry, specimen handling, and timely processing while following safety and compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry (6,000+ alphanumeric keystrokes/hour)

• Receive, sort, label, centrifuge, aliquot, and transport specimens

• Follow daily changing compliance and testing requirements

• Maintain accuracy, productivity, and quality standards

• Work safely in a biohazard environment using required PPE

• Keep work area clean and organized

• Communicate effectively with team members

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Flexible, dependable, and punctual

• Reliable transportation required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical or laboratory background

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Previous production or hospital lab experience

Additional Information:

• Night shift position in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment

• Must be available for scheduled shifts and stay for the full shift

• Weekend, holiday, overtime, and on-call availability may be required

• Excessive tardiness or absenteeism is not tolerated
