Respiratory Care Practitioner
Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner
Location: Milwaukee, WI, 53226
Duration: 05/26/2025 – 11/27/2025
Shift: 1st
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 40 hours per week
Additional Scheduling Notes: Worksite is for Advanced Care, Pulmonary Clinic, In-person interview and job shadowing preferred (approx. 1.5 hours); open to virtual interviews if necessary.
Job Summary:
-
Performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures under established policies and physician orders.

Provides therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing with medical gases, aerosols, environmental systems, ventilatory support, breathing exercises, CPR, and airway management.

Administers medications and performs bronchopulmonary clearance.

Delivers care in both critical and non-critical care areas across all age groups.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
-
Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program (required)

Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications:
-
Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
-
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
-
New grads must obtain RRT credential within one year of hire
-
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
-
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
-
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire (CHD only)
-
Preferred: AARC and WSRC membership
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (worked or educational) in general and critical care
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-
2+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care
