- Monday–Friday: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Job Description
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) plays a vital role as the primary point of contact for patients visiting the facility for routine testing or diagnostic procedures. This role is responsible for performing highquality blood collection, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining a professional, supportive environment for patients.
The Phlebotomist I ensures an excellent patient experience by explaining procedures clearly, performing venipuncture and specimen handling safely and accurately, and demonstrating strong customer service and communication skills. This position requires adherence to established procedures, confidentiality protocols, and processexcellence standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily assigned duties accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional workspace at all times.
- Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established policies.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation as required.
- Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring comfort, clarity, and confidence throughout the specimen collection process.
- Support patient interactions with professionalism, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Job Requirements
- Ability to perform accurate, errorfree work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Flexibility to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime if required.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Must have reliable personal transportation (public transit, Uber, or rideshare is not accepted).
- Must consistently arrive on time, complete full shifts, and maintain acceptable attendance.
- Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the Fort Myers worksite.
- If bilingual, must have excellent understanding of both English and Spanish.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical training preferred (Medical Assistant, Paramedic, etc.)
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred
- Previous customer service experience (retail or service) preferred
- Keyboarding/data entry experience required
