The EMT – Paramedic provides high-quality emergency medical care and safe patient transport while maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The role ensures compliance with all clinical, safety, and operational protocols approved by the Medical Director.

Job Summary:
The EMT – Paramedic provides high-quality emergency medical care and safe patient transport while maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The role ensures compliance with all clinical, safety, and operational protocols approved by the Medical Director.
Job Duties:
- Conduct systematic patient assessments at the scene, referring hospitals, or emergency departments.
- Initiate appropriate treatment per established protocols and within certification scope.
- Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities while maintaining continuous monitoring and care.
- Use aseptic techniques during procedures such as IV starts or airway management.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and daily duties accurately.
- Correct and report any observed errors in patient care to ensure safety.
- Supervise and coordinate scene activities with police, fire, and medical personnel.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and institutional policies.
- Adapt communication and care methods to meet diverse patient needs and populations.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a formal EMT training program.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of current experience as a registered EMT/A or EMT-I.
- Experience in a fast-paced and confidential work environment required.
Certifications:
- Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association).
- Current National and Louisiana EMT registration (EMT/B).
- Valid Class D license (Louisiana DHH/EMS).
- Defensive Driving Certification (current and valid).
