Payrate: $24 - $28/ hr on w2

Job Summary:
- Reviews a patient’s medical records after a visit or procedure to translate information into appropriate diagnostic, and procedural codes that insurers use to process claims.
- Level I – RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCA at time of hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Level I, II, & III – Coder must have proficient knowledge in medical terminology and codes, hospital policies, and government regulations.
- Must have clear communication and active listening skills to interact with a diverse staff and diverse functions.
- Position requires problem solving skills for both straightforward and complex coding concerns.
- Must be well-versed in conflict management and stay level-headed and positive during stressful situations.
- Must have an attention to detail in order to accurately identify coding and billing errors.
- As an independent worker, this position requires organizational and time management skills to maintain workload and productivity.
- Must be able to adapt to an ever-changing role with evolving responsibilities.
- Coder must be able to collaborate with others and work as a team.
- Must be proactive in setting up oneself for success to ensure tasks get done on time and with minimal supervision.
- Personal computer experience using data base, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- Understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terms.
- All Levels – Must maintain credentials throughout employment.
- All Levels - ICD-10: one (1)-year coding experience.
- Medical Field: one (1)-year experience.
