Job Description
The Incoming Inspection Technician is responsible for performing inspections on purchased materials and sub-assemblies for use in medical device applications in compliance with Philips Quality Management System, International Standards, and regulatory requirements. This employee will perform inspection activities associated with the release of materials to production, qualification of new and modified parts, and nonconformance investigations.
You are responsible for:
Measurement of parts, fixtures, tooling and assemblies utilizing appropriate tools and fixtures in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
Execute Quality Inspection tasks in SAP to ensure timely and accurate inventory control.
Ensure equipment used complies with calibration and preventive maintenance requirements before use. Take appropriate action when deviations are found.
Accurately document test data and observations, and retain paperwork and electronic records.
Organize and summarize inspection/test results and prepare reports utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Review vendor certificates and inspection data to ensure compliance with Philips specifications.
Provide input for continuous improvement of inspection procedures, specifications and processes.
Participate in internal, ISO and other audits.
Initiate nonconformance reports on defective material and provide support to Operations to aid in the investigation and disposition of product.
Assist in qualification/validation activities and perform actions to resolve issues and implement corrective measures.
Convey raw material and product quality issues to management.
Maintain working knowledge of all instruments used for routine and non-routine sample testing and troubleshooting.
Work with internal and external teams to ensure work is commensurate to standards, acceptance criteria and quality policies.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with customers, collaborators, vendors, co-workers and management.
Other duties as assigned by management.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
2+ years experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing facility, preferably a regulated environment (e.g. automotive, aerospace, medical device).
Associate degree, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficient with GD&T.
Knowledge of metrology, materials, calibration, auditing and inspection techniques.
General understanding of ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 / Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) / Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Must understand the concept of traceability (product, material, and calibration).
Experience inspecting with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) desired.
Strong communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize your workload.
