Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Irving, TX
Duration: 6 months
Shift: Tuesday- Saturday 10 am- 6:30 pm (Central)

Job Summary:
Responsible for performing high-complexity testing in accordance with lab protocols and regulatory standards. Ensures accuracy, quality, and timely reporting of test results, while maintaining safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform specimen handling, testing, and result analysis per SOPs

• Maintain accurate and compliant test records (QC, calibration, maintenance)

• Release and report results, including STATs and critical values

• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and lab safety standards

• Troubleshoot and escalate issues affecting test performance

• Train on new procedures and participate in ongoing education

• Assist with regulatory inspections, safety drills, and departmental upkeep

• Interact professionally with clients and team members

Qualifications:

Education:

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; BS/BA in Chemistry/Biology or related field acceptable

• Foreign degrees require credential evaluation (IERF)

• Eligible for national certification (ASCP or AMT)

Experience:

• 1+ year in clinical lab (high complexity testing) preferred

• Strong computer skills and familiarity with multiple lab systems

• Knowledge of QA/QC processes and lab regulations
