Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift
Duration: 3 months
Location: Springfield MO
Shift: 8am - 4:50pm M-F
Job Overview:
The PSR II is the face of the company to patients, providing essential support during both routine health visits and critical diagnostic testing. This role includes skillful and safe blood specimen collection, preparation of those specimens for lab analysis, and maintaining patient trust through excellent service and communication.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection accurately and on time.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.

Create a welcoming, confidence-building experience for patients by clearly explaining procedures.

Verify patient demographics and labeling accuracy, including confirming tube labels in the patient’s presence.

Accurately maintain records and required documentation.
-
Promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.

Follow all established procedures and company policies, including dress code and safety standards.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence.

Provide flexible support as needed at Patient Service Centers, in-office phlebotomy sites, and other locations.
Job Requirements:
Skills & Abilities:

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.

High attention to detail and commitment to error-free work.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong customer service and communication skills.
-
Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

Flexible and adaptable to change.
Availability & Travel:

Willing to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Travel between multiple locations with short notice.

Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Qualifications:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Minimum 2 years experience in a Patient Service Center preferred.

Experience in customer service, retail, or service environment preferred.

Keyboard and data entry skills required.
