Phlebotomist I

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization to patients, assisting them during routine health visits or significant health decisions. The PSR I performs skilled blood specimen collection and prepares specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established practices and procedures. This role requires direct patient interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring accurate, safe, and high-quality specimen collection.

The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.

• Perform daily activities accurately and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
• Conduct both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and specimen handling.
• Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

• Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience required.
• One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience required.
