Certified Medical Assistant Physician Services
Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Physician Services
Location: North Bergen, Neptune /Paramus, NJ 07047
Duration: 3+ Months (with a possible of extension)
Shift: 1st Shift (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Schedule: 5 Days Per Week, 40 Hours Per Week, 8 Hours Per Day
Schedule Notes: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. 5x8 hour shifts. No weekends. No holidays. No on-call. Will float within the same Multi-Specialty Department.
Pay Range: $20 - $21/hr. on W2
Required Skills & Experience:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED – Required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program – Preferred
Licensure & Certifications:
- AHA BLS – Required
- One of the following certifications – Required :
- CMA – NHA (National Healthcareer Association)
- CMA – NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)
- CMA – AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
- RMA – AMT (American Medical Technologists)
- RMA – NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)
- AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)
- NCMA (National Certification Medical Association)
Job Summary:
- The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in providing clinical care to select patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and provides clerical office assistance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
- Prepares patients for physician visit and examination, assisting as directed.
- Takes and documents patient vital signs.
- Operates and maintains special medical equipment.
- Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test after competency checklist completion.
- Performs UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated.
- Maintains accurate and timely patient records.
- Assists with billing and collection processes as needed.
- Uses medical office software systems effectively.
- Maintains confidentiality and patient privacy.
- Adapts care to the specific needs of diverse patient populations (e.g., cultural, age, sensory needs).
- Communicates clearly with patients, caregivers, and team members.
- May lift up to 5 lbs, push/pull 10 lbs, and stand for 6+ hours/day.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to Client organizational competencies and behaviour standards.
