Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Grapevine, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–1:00 PM (Rotational Saturdays)
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care during blood collection procedures. This role involves drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring adherence to established safety and procedural standards. The Phlebotomist II fosters trust and confidence through clear communication and professional conduct while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in patient information.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.
- Collect forensic and clinical specimens confidently and skillfully following established protocols.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all collections.
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public.
- Provide superior customer service and address patient inquiries professionally.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed and adapt to flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible availability for rotational shifts, weekends, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (clean driving record if applicable).
- Excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in keyboard/data entry.
