Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for identifying accessibility issues, developing and implementing remediation strategies, and ensuring accessibility is integrated into the Department’s ongoing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough audits of the client website, web applications, and other digital content to identify accessibility issues.
- Document accessibility issues clearly and provide practical, standards-based remediation recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with developers, designers, communications staff, and stakeholders to ensure accessibility is built into design and publishing workflows.
- Provide training and guidance to client staff on accessibility best practices to support long-term compliance.
Requirements and Skills:
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
- Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and ARIA roles.
- Ability to develop and implement solutions to accessibility issues, including remediation of documents and web content.
- Experience in web development, digital content remediation, or user experience design.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., WAVE, Siteimprove) and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers such as NVDA).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document issues and train non-technical staff.
