Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Milwaukee, WI 53226
Duration: 05/25/2026 – 08/27/2026
Shift: 3rd Shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Schedule: 3 days/week, 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Pay Range: $58-$62/hr.
Schedule Notes:

  • 1800–0630 x 3 nights per week
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
  • Manager will call directly
  • Must haves: ACLS, BLS, critical care experience
  • Fit test required
  • Color vision test required
  • Dress code: Hunter green scrub pants; any print or color top
    Work Setting: Clinical / Hospital Respiratory Care


Requirements / Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care
  • Respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures
  • Therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing using medical gases and equipment
  • Medication administration to the cardiopulmonary system
  • Ventilatory support and life support systems management
  • Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises
  • Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Maintenance of natural and artificial airways
  • Experience in both critical care and non-critical care settings

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of hospital respiratory care experience


Education:

Required Education:

  • Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care


Certifications & Licensure:

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP (required for CHD only – Froedtert West Bend Hospital or Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital)

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

  • American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership
  • Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership


Job Summary:

  • Perform respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with hospital and departmental policies


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic treatments and diagnostic testing using medical gases, equipment, humidification, and aerosols
  • Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system
  • Provide ventilatory support and manage life support systems
  • Perform bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises
  • Educate patients and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Maintain natural and artificial airways
  • Deliver care in both critical and non-critical care settings across all patient age groups
  • Follow organizational mission, vision, and values
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
