Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
 
Job Summary:
The Logistics Activity Coordinator is responsible for utilizing client standard processes and technologies to manage material movement, including raw materials and finished goods, within chemical manufacturing site(s). This position focuses on the plant’s material movements, whether they are raw material receipts or finished goods shipments. The coordinator organizes and aligns personnel and resources to maximize efficiency in receiving and shipping. This role handles three business units with differing needs, utilizes two different ERP systems, and interfaces with the external warehouse.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Pull Open Orders & Communicate Shipping Arrangements – 30%
    Pulls open orders from SAP and Oracle and communicates orders and shipping arrangements to operators, shift leaders, and warehouse personnel daily.
  • Coordinate Carrier Pickups – 15%
    Uses reports to contact carriers and schedule pickups for shipments.
  • Review Previous Day Shipping Log – 20%
    Reviews prior day’s shipping log, identifies any issues, and communicates them to warehouse personnel and customer service departments.
  • Address Open Orders & Issues – 10%
    Resolves open orders and issues for the joint venture, client, and customers daily.
  • Collaborate Across Supply Chain – 5%
    Works with team members throughout the supply chain organization to solve problems and meet performance goals for customer satisfaction and margin.
  • Provide Insight & Escalate Concerns – 5%
    Escalates delivery or supply challenges to Customer Service and demand planning teams.
  • Backup for Logistics Supervisor – 5%
    Serves as the primary backup for the Logistics Supervisor as needed.
  • Process Shipment Paperwork – 10%
    Completes and processes all shipment paperwork in SAP/Oracle.
 
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
 
Certifications / Training:
  • Working knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Extensive experience with SAP and Oracle systems.

HES Requirements:
  • Comply with regulations, legal, and internal requirements of the site and business unit.
  • Follow all site-specific and business rules.
  • Participate in Root Cause Investigations as required.
  • Understand and execute Emergency Response procedures.
  • Support site HES policies and comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in HES activities provided by site management and Client.
  • Promote reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident, or injury incidents.
 
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
  • Based at a chemical manufacturing facility with associated hazards and risks.
