Mechanical Technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner or Mechanical Specialist with strong expertise in equipment installation, maintenance planning, and high-speed sewing machine rebuilds. The role involves supporting equipment validation, maintenance strategy development, and hands-on mechanical troubleshooting in a production environment.

• Assist in executing IQ/OQ (Installation Qualification / Operational Qualification) checks to ensure equipment is installed correctly and components are properly oriented.
• Inspect and validate mechanical aspects of equipment, including alignment, torque checks, guarding, and free-moving parts.
• Develop and document centerlines for equipment setup and operation.
• Create and maintain AM/PM (Autonomous Maintenance / Preventive Maintenance) plans and documentation.
• Develop CILs (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate standards).
• Prepare detailed equipment rebuild instructions.
• Ensure full compliance with LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and safety standards while working around energized equipment.
• Support production by understanding and working with packaging, production, and conveying systems.

• Tear down and rebuild high-speed sewing machines used in production.
• Set equipment to defined centerlines and validate setup on production lines.
• Perform mechanical checks (alignment, torque, tension, guarding, moving parts).
• Troubleshoot sewing defects and identify root causes.
• Train and coach team members on machine rebuilds, settings, and standards.
• Assist in updating and improving maintenance standards and processes.

• 10+ years of experience in high-speed sewing machine rebuilds.
• Strong technical expertise in dismantling and rebuilding complex machinery following defined standards.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve sewing defects.
• Experience in coaching and training others on machine settings and centerlines.

• Experience supporting maintenance planning and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with production equipment setup and optimization.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance best practices.

• Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with practical, real-world troubleshooting skills.
