Schedule : day shift 7a-7pm
Duties :
• Obtains and documents vital signs (without the use of continuous physiologic monitors) and notifies professional of abnormal findings as evidenced by supervisory observation and review of medical records. • Obtains and documents physiologic values using continuous physiologic monitors; responds appropriately to alarms and notifies professional of abnormal values as evidenced by supervisory observation and review of medical records. • Obtains and documents body measurements and intake and output and notifies the RN of abnormal finding as evidenced by supervisory observation and review of medical records.
SKILLS:
• Knowledge of general office tasks, confidentiality, filing, medical terminology, CPT coding and managed care referral
• Knowledge of nursing care. • Ability to perform tasks for numerous patients, communicate effectively with the team, utilize monitoring equipment and basic patient care equipment, computer terminal and telecommunications equipment.
Required:
o High School Diploma or GED accredited by the Board of Education.
o Completion of a certified nursing assistant program or similar, with qualifications such as a Diploma, Course Certificate, Associate Degree, etc., in fields like Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, or similar clinical programs.
o Enrollment in a BSN program, with at least one clinical rotation completed by the time of hiring.
o Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience with inpatient experience strongly preferred.
o Commitment to a safe and healthy workplace; successful candidates must complete respiratory fit testing per occupational health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
o Assists in collecting and documenting patient and family data, including but not limited to vital signs, I&Os, and hygiene.
o Provides high-quality, cost-effective patient care, collaborating with the RN and involving patient and family as needed.
o Maintains accountability for personal and professional development.
o Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, effective communication, and strong customer service skills as they float across all units.
