Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Contract Type: 13 weeks
Shift Details: Every Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Alternating Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Total Hours: 21 hours per week / 2 shifts weekly
Pay Rate: $55/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)

Role Overview:
The Ultrasound Technologist performs and assists in diagnostic ultrasound examinations under physician supervision. This includes preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, analyzing imaging results, and maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment. The role also requires collaboration with healthcare professionals and patient communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, verifying identity and obtaining medical history.
• Ensure procedures align with clinical indications and notify physicians of any contraindications.
• Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment, report malfunctions promptly.
• Explain procedures and instructions to patients and healthcare staff; answer general inquiries.
• Modify procedure plans using clinical judgment to optimize diagnostic results.
• Perform high-quality imaging exams; analyze findings and conduct required measurements.
• Minimize patient exposure to acoustic energy without reducing image quality.
• Communicate urgent findings to appropriate healthcare providers.
• Record diagnostic images and data; summarize preliminary findings for the radiologist.
• Maintain supplies and a clean, safe working environment.
• Assist in orienting and mentoring new ultrasound personnel.
• Support administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling, and arranging transport.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: High school graduate
• Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and ARMS certified
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an Ultrasound Technologist
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
