Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift
Job Location: Norristown PA
Duration: 3 months of Contract with (temp-to-hire)
Shift: Mon - Fri 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
Position Overview:
The PSR II serves as the face of the organization to patients, assisting them during routine visits and life-defining health decisions. This role includes drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and following established procedures with confidence, accuracy, and professionalism. The PSR II fosters trust and comfort for patients while demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality. Assignments may be in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.

Collect and process both forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.

Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signature post-venipuncture, ensuring correct labeling of all specimens.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for all specimens and patient interactions.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:

Deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Be flexible and available to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Follow all policies and procedures, including dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.

Make decisions using established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Maintain reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.

Travel and work at multiple locations as needed, covering Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy with minimal notice.

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrate superior customer focus, clear communication with peers, supervisors, and patients, and the ability to adapt to change.
Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard and data entry experience required.
