Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II (PSR II)

Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Job Description: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company for patients seeking healthcare services, whether for routine care or critical health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures. This role requires direct patient interaction, ensuring an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner. The PSR II is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and precision in handling patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to various locations, including doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other business needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.

Confidently handle both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographic information, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to ensure that tubes are properly labeled in the patient s presence and that the information is correct.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment by promoting a positive image of the company and providing excellent service to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Provide flexible and responsive coverage at multiple locations, as needed, to meet staffing demands.
Job Requirements:

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric care.

Flexible and available for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Capable of making decisions based on established procedures and exercising good judgment.

Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Ability to travel and work flexible hours, covering various Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Must demonstrate superior customer focus, excellent communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients, and the ability to embrace change.
Required Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification is preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience is required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

A minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment is preferred.

Experience in customer service within a retail or service environment is preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience is essential.
