We’re looking for a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our team as a Materials Handler. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, and routing of materials within and outside the Business Unit (BU). You’ll play a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting daily warehouse operations.

Position Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our team as a Materials Handler. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, and routing of materials within and outside the Business Unit (BU). You’ll play a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting daily warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials, entering all receipts into the Materials Management system.
- Route materials to the appropriate on-site and off-site (remote) locations.
- Notify the Warehouse Manager of any discrepancies between received items and shipping documents.
- Prepare and document all outbound shipments accurately.
- Manage returned goods in accordance with company SOPs.
- Deliver stock to designated staging areas for each department.
- Store and rotate materials based on receipt and expiration dates to ensure proper stock use.
- Identify and report any short-dated materials (less than 30 days of shelf life).
- Assist with cycle counts, full physical inventories, and record storage/retrieval.
- Support order entry, picking, packing, and delivery as needed.
- Assist with handling internal and external mail distribution.
- Follow all company policies and safety regulations (OSHA, CLIA, etc.).
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- At least 6 months of previous materials management, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience.
- Data entry experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or equivalent programs.
- Able to operate computers, printers, and barcode scanners.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) preferred.
