Job Title: Radiologic Technologist-Computed Tomography
Location: Jackson, MI
Duration: 3 months (extension possible)
Shift: Rotating schedule – Weekends 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Weekdays 11:30 AM – 12:00 AM (overnights)
Hours: 36 hours/week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days/week
The CT Technologist performs computerized tomographic (CT) procedures and may assist with general diagnostic radiology exams. The role includes preparing patients, administering contrast, performing imaging, assisting radiologists with procedures, and ensuring high-quality image capture in PACS while maintaining patient safety and radiation protection standards.

The CT Technologist performs computerized tomographic (CT) procedures and may assist with general diagnostic radiology exams. The role includes preparing patients, administering contrast, performing imaging, assisting radiologists with procedures, and ensuring high-quality image capture in PACS while maintaining patient safety and radiation protection standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for exams
- Review requisition and patient clinical history; perform CT scans accordingly
- Administer IV contrast media, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care if needed
- Assist Radiologists in complex sterile diagnostic procedures (e.g., biopsies)
- Prepare and maintain procedure rooms and supplies
- Operate CT and diagnostic imaging equipment manually to obtain proper images
- Ensure accurate documentation in medical records and Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Resolve imaging exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery in PACS
- Follow ALARA principles for radiation safety and patient shielding
- Demonstrate teamwork, communication, and customer service excellence (AIDET, open communication, positive attitude)
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- ARRT registration with advanced CT registry (or registry-eligible)
- BLS certification from AHA
- Commitment to continued medical education
- Strong customer service skills and teamwork orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of hospital CT experience
- Peripheral IV insertion experience (or willingness to train)
- Experience working independently in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and people skills
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
- Exposure to radiation if proper precautions are not used
- Exposure to high-voltage equipment and potentially contagious patients
- May occasionally lift/move equipment or patients >10 lbs
- Work may occur in hospital or mobile units
