Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Red Bank, NJ – 07701
Initial Duration – 3 months (High possibilities of Extension)
Shift: 10-hour shifts (to include overnights when needed)

Pay Range:
Local Pay: $55 - 58/hr on w2

 
Note:
  • You can refer your friends or colleagues for this role or any other RN role, we do offer a referral bonus of $750.
  • Stipend is also provided to the candidate living more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Other locations available in NJ.
  • Local/Travel Contracts available in multiple departments in all states.
 
Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.
Essential Generic Job Functions (List in order of importance):
  • Performs procedures according to departmental format, completing exam in allotted time.
  • Performs required daily clerical duties, which include the use EPIC, Tele tracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by Medical Center.
  • Performs portable ultrasound exams.
  • Performs a variety of complex technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sound waves to detect anatomical abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones in accordance with prescribed sonographic procedures. Assist physician with biopsy deep abdominal studies and colour flow ultrasound as required.
  • Determines, prepares, and sets up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
    Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explain procedures, measures and position patients for each anatomical view.  
  • Evaluates technical quality of images. Obtains and process images of pathogenic conditions in accordance with standard procedures or techniques.
  • Maintains records of ultrasound taken, archiving and de-archiving data as required. Calculates, compiles, and records data from numerical readings on patient’s charts and related documents.
  • Calibrates, cleans, and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Cleans and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment. Stocks and replenish supplies as required.
  • Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
  • Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient’s care.
 
Required Certification/Licensing:
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
  • BLS AHA
 
Required Education:
  • Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
  • 2 years training in Allied Health/College.
 
Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:
  • Must be able to perform CPR.
  • Knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, their function, and operation of each control.
  • Understanding of equipment and computer systems as well as the procedures for equipment service.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of safety, infection, and disaster policy and procedures, including implementation of patient care in cases of an emergency.
