Pay rate: $21.85/hr on W2
Job Description: Referral Testing Coordinator
Summary
The Referral Testing Coordinator manages all internal and external customer interactions related to referral testing. This role is responsible for resolving complex customer issues and acting as a liaison between clients, internal teams, and referral laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve, sort, and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
- Ensure specimen quality and accuracy; identify issues such as incorrect specimen type, missing information, improper temperature, or insufficient quantity.
- Prepare and package specimens for shipment in compliance with IATA regulations.
- Maintain and organize departmental documentation and records.
- Handle customer inquiries related to test results, service issues, and quality concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Report laboratory results following established protocols.
- Contact clients to resolve routine, medical, or technical issues related to patient testing and result reporting.
- Investigate and resolve complex referral testing issues.
- Research test availability and select appropriate referral vendors based on established protocols.
- Support Client Services, customers, and Sales teams by responding to questions and concerns promptly.
- Communicate all Tests Not Performed (TNPs) and laboratory incidents to clients within 24 hours; document thoroughly and escalate when necessary.
- Identify and escalate reportable quality incidents to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
- Comply with all applicable regulations, including CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE), engineering controls, and safe work practices as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in customer service and/or healthcare or medical field.
