General Information
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately receive incoming material (domestic/international) and enter it into the AS400 inventory management system.
- Participate in physical inventories of the warehouse; maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform daily cycle counts.
- Receive and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Check for damaged goods.
- Verify quantity and quality of shipments received.
- Receive and inspect returned products.
- Efficiently put away material so it is available as quickly as possible to be shipped to customers.
- Create a manifest for movement of material between production facilities (DOT certification required).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor and Team Lead.
Quality Responsibilities
- Observe all departmental and Quality System procedures and work instructions.
- Support commitment to continuous improvement by documenting process improvement opportunities within the Quality System.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Responsibilities
- Follow and abide by all EH&S policies, practices, and procedures related to departmental responsibilities.
- Demonstrate technical and procedural proficiency in applying EH&S standards.
- Contribute to audit readiness and participate in EH&S audits with internal company groups, regulatory agencies, and customers.
- Report all near misses, accidents, and dangerous occurrences using the appropriate company procedures.
- Cooperate with root cause investigations and follow corrective actions in compliance with company policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
- Support the company’s environmental health & safety commitment by applying ISO 14001 standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven work record with warehousing, inventory control, order picking, and/or shipping operations with at least 1+ years of warehouse experience.
- Ability to document records in English and communicate effectively in oral and written English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills/Experience Valued but Not Required
- Experience in a chemical warehouse environment.
- Experience with JDE/AS400 systems.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (heavier weights with assistance).
- Ability to work an 8–12 hour shift in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle chemicals safely while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Required to wear ASTM F 2413-05 (or ANSI Z41-1999) safety shoes and safety glasses while working in the warehouse.
