Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Bradenton, FL
Duration: 5 months + , temp to hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with rotational Saturdays
Hours/Week: 40 hours

The Phlebotomist I acts as the face of the organization, welcoming patients who visit for routine screenings or essential health testing. This role involves drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality.

Under the supervision of the area supervisor, the Phlebotomist I is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing specimen collection, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting a safe, professional, and compassionate work environment.

• Perform daily specimen collection duties accurately and on schedule

• Greet patients and explain procedures in a courteous, clear, and compassionate manner

• Collect both forensic and clinical specimens in compliance with established protocols

• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transport of specimens for lab processing

• Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required

• Promote a clean, safe, and professional environment

• Demonstrate commitment to patient care and organizational goals

• Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

• Display leadership behaviors and contribute to process improvement

• Remain flexible and available according to staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

• Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)

• Phlebotomy certification (Preferred)

• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)

• Customer service experience in a retail or service setting (Preferred)

• Keyboard and data entry skills (Required)

• Excellent phlebotomy skills (including pediatric and geriatric)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Committed to punctuality and reliable attendance

Commute Requirement:
 

• Must live within 20–25 minutes of the Bradenton, FL job site

• Reliable transportation required (bus, rideshare, or Uber is not acceptable)
