Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Bradenton, FL
Duration: 5 months + , temp to hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with rotational Saturdays
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist I acts as the face of the organization, welcoming patients who visit for routine screenings or essential health testing. This role involves drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality.
Under the supervision of the area supervisor, the Phlebotomist I is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing specimen collection, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting a safe, professional, and compassionate work environment.
Primary Responsibilities:

Perform daily specimen collection duties accurately and on schedule

Greet patients and explain procedures in a courteous, clear, and compassionate manner

Collect both forensic and clinical specimens in compliance with established protocols

Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transport of specimens for lab processing

Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required

Promote a clean, safe, and professional environment

Demonstrate commitment to patient care and organizational goals

Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

Display leadership behaviors and contribute to process improvement

Remain flexible and available according to staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime
Requirements:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred)
Experience:
-
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
-
1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
-
Customer service experience in a retail or service setting (Preferred)
-
Keyboard and data entry skills (Required)
Skills:
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills (including pediatric and geriatric)
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Committed to punctuality and reliable attendance
Additional Information:
Commute Requirement:
- Must live within 20–25 minutes of the Bradenton, FL job site

Reliable transportation required (bus, rideshare, or Uber is not acceptable)
