Duration: 5 months of Contract with possible extension
Shift: Monday, Thursday 8:30am-5pm
Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-8pm
Saturday rotational 9am-5pm
Payrate: $21.70 - 24.31/Hr On W2
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company and interacts directly with patients during routine health visits and important diagnostic decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures and safety standards.
The PSR II fosters a professional, safe, and trustworthy environment by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws accurately and skillfully. This role requires strong leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strict attention to patient confidentiality and data accuracy.
Assignments may include working in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
The PSR II will perform daily activities accurately and in a timely manner under the direction of the area supervisor. The employee will maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. The role includes performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
The PSR II will verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials or signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper specimen labeling. All specimen labels must be accurate and applied in the patient’s presence. The employee will maintain required documentation and records at all times.
The PSR II will promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. The role requires demonstrating organizational commitment and maintaining a strong customer-focused approach.
Job Requirements:
The candidate must be able to deliver accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections, are required.
The candidate must be capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting. Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment are required. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
The role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts. The candidate must be willing to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice. Adherence to company policies, dress code, health and safety standards, and guiding principles is mandatory.
Reliable personal transportation is required. Rideshare services, buses, or being dropped off are not considered reliable transportation. The candidate must be punctual, remain for the entire scheduled shift, and maintain consistent attendance. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred. Phlebotomy certification is preferred and required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
One to three years of phlebotomy experience is required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Two or more years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred. Retail or service-based customer service experience is highly preferred. Keyboard and data entry experience is required.
Five or more years of direct phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred.
