Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: The Villages, FL
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension and conversion based upon performance)
Shift: Mon-Fri 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with rotational Saturday
Job Description:
The Phlebotomist I serves as the face of our organization, providing compassionate and professional service to patients during routine health visits or critical diagnostic procedures. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The Phlebotomist I is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, uphold confidentiality standards, and deliver excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures using aseptic techniques.
- Label and document specimens accurately with patient information and collection time.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
- Follow all infection control and safety procedures.
- Transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory or prepare them for courier pickup.
- Assist patients who experience adverse reactions during or after blood collection.
- Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system.
- Order and stock phlebotomy supplies as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
- Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED.
- One(+) years phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service in a preferred retail or service environment.
- Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
