Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Duartion: 6 months 
Location: Spokane WA
Shift: : Monday through Friday 7:30a-4:30p. 2–30-minute split lunch breaks
Pay rate : $23.55/hr 

 

Job Summary:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is a key representative of our company, providing direct, high-quality care to patients across all age groups—from newborns to elderly adults. The PSR II is responsible for drawing accurate, quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures. The role also involves building trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures clearly and performing skilled, safe, and accurate venipunctures.

Assignments may vary and include working at a Patient Service Center (PSC), in-office phlebotomy location, or other sites depending on business needs.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operational duties accurately and on time under supervisor direction.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.

  • Confidently perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection following all established procedures.

  • Verify patient demographic information, initials, and obtain signatures post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling and patient acknowledgment.

  • Maintain all required records and documentation per compliance standards.

  • Demonstrate a positive organizational image with patients, clients, coworkers, and the general public.

  • Follow and promote Company Policies and Procedures, including dress code, safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.




Skills & Competencies:

  • Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

  • Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric (as young as 2 days old), geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Maintain superior customer service and communication with patients, coworkers, and leadership.

  • Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

  • Embrace change and continuous improvement with a positive, proactive attitude.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if driving is part of role.




Education & Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalentRequired

  • Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) – Preferred

  • Phlebotomy certification – Preferred

    • Required in California, Nevada, and Washington

  • Washington State Phlebotomy LicenseRequired

  • COVID-19 vaccinationRequired




Work Experience:

  • 1–3 years phlebotomy experienceRequired

    • Must include pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collection




Additional Job Details:

  • Flexible scheduling required, including:

    • WeekendsHolidaysOn-call shiftsOvertime, as needed

  • Travel and cross-coverage across multiple sites may be required with minimal notice

  • Training locations may vary based on availability of certified trainers

  • Must be comfortable working with patients from 2 days old to elderly
