Schedule: Hybrid work schedule available (work from home 1-3 days per week). M-F, 8am-5pm base schedule; OT is often required: 45 hours per week target.

Summary
As part of a global drafting team, you will support the creation, revision, and management of electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom process equipment used across Client Optical Fiber and Cable manufacturing sites worldwide.
You will assist the drafting lead in preparing engineering/development drawing sets for release in Autodesk Vault. Responsibilities include creating and editing 3D models and drawings while adhering to company drafting standards (detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly). This role does not involve new design work.
Key Responsibilities

Audit and measure existing equipment on the plant floor to create 3D models

Update and correct redlined models/drawings from drafting or engineering teams

Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings

Generate 2D drawings from existing 3D models
Work Environment

Contract role via third party (1-year term; extension based on performance and workload)

Hybrid work model (13 days work from home per week)

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Overtime frequently required (~45 hours/week)
Required Education
-
One of the following (or equivalent technical background with drafting skills):

A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology

A.O.S. in Drafting/CAD
-
Drafting Certificate/Certification

Candidates without formal degrees must demonstrate strong 2D and 3D drafting proficiency
Required Experience & Skills
-
No prior experience required
-
Ability to use basic measurement tools (tape measure, calipers)

Knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards

Basic Windows computer skills

Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault

Ability to follow company standards and guidelines

Strong work ethic and attention to detail
