Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the company to patients, providing care both for routine health needs and life-defining health decisions. This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring procedures are conducted skillfully, safely, and accurately. The Phlebotomist III – Float provides coverage at multiple locations and roles, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), mobile services, long-term care, in-office phlebotomy, and house calls. This role may also include leadership responsibilities, mentoring new employees, and acting as a point of contact for on-site staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely daily activities across multiple locations and service environments.

  • Draw blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately for pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • Maintain patient trust, confidence, and confidentiality while explaining procedures.

  • Provide coverage in PSC, mobile, in-office, and long-term care settings, stepping in for Phlebotomist III as needed.

  • Coach, mentor, and onboard new employees and provide guidance to PSRs on-site.

  • Act as point of contact for staff and provide regular input to supervisors or group leads.

  • Handle high-complexity and/or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy and customer service skills.

  • Collaborate with multiple functions, including Sales, Lab Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.

  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.


Education & Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Medical training preferred (Medical Assistant or Paramedic).

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years phlebotomy experience (inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
