Job Summary:
The Tennessee Department of Health's Office of Healthy Aging is seeking a Product Grant Program Coordinator to lead the strategic implementation of initiatives funded by the CDC's Building Our Largest Dementia (Product) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Disease grant. The Coordinator will manage public health strategies aligned with the Healthy Brain Initiative (HBI) Road Map to reduce the burden of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), focusing on health equity and improving quality of life for people living with dementia (PLWD) and their caregivers. This position will drive the development of dementia-capable systems, scale evidence-based interventions, and build collaborative partnerships to address dementia-related challenges across Tennessee.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership:
    • Plan, execute, and evaluate all aspects of the Product grant program in alignment with the CDC’s goals and the HBI Road Map.
    • Develop and oversee public health strategies targeting ADRD risk reduction, with a focus on underserved and high-risk populations.
  • Grant Management:
    • Manage program budgets, timelines, deliverables, and compliance with grant requirements.
    • Draft, negotiate, and oversee contracts to ensure successful implementation and adherence to program objectives.
    • Provide technical assistance and monitor the performance of grantees and contractors.
  • Partnership Building:
    • Establish and sustain partnerships with community organizations, health systems, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advance dementia awareness and care.
    • Facilitate interagency knowledge exchange and foster capacity-building initiatives among local health departments, community groups, and faith-based organizations.
  • Data and Strategy:
    • Analyze public health data to inform decision-making and monitor program outcomes.
    • Develop and present program reports, outcomes, and best practices at meetings, conferences, and public forums.
 
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Sciences, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in public health program management, particularly in aging, dementia, or chronic disease prevention.
  • Strong understanding of public health systems, program development, and evidence-based chronic disease and dementia interventions.
  • Experience with grant management, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Commitment to addressing health disparities and promoting health equity in aging and dementia care.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working in chronic disease prevention or management.
  • Knowledge of ADRD trends, research, care strategies, prevention, and risk reduction.
