Specimen Technician
Job Title: Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I)
Location: Irving, TX
Duration: 4 months
Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM CST
Overview:
The SPT I supports the Specimen Processing Department with various lab-related tasks. Key duties include data entry, specimen sorting, delivery, imaging, centrifugation, and aliquoting. Accuracy, speed, and adaptability are essential in this fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-volume data entry (6,000 keystrokes/hour)

Handle and process lab specimens with accuracy

Ensure compliance with lab regulations and procedures

Adapt to daily workflow changes and priorities

Maintain a clean, safe work area in a biohazard environment

Communicate effectively with team members
Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Basic computer skills; lab or medical background preferred
-
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
-
Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Preferred Experience:
-
Previous lab or hospital experience
-
Familiarity with medical terminology

Experience in production environments
