Job Description:
Top Skills/Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in a lab environment executing experiments.
- Clear and solid understanding of how to apply the scientific method.
- Hands on experience with laser systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and understanding of engineering principles is critical.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of laser-based processes and systems.
- Execute experimental plans, collect data, and document experimental settings and results.
- Interact with internal customers to understand incoming laser processing requests and ensure timely delivery of sample parts.
- Support laser system maintenance, including assembly, installation, debugging, and start-up of new laser setups.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date process and safety documentation.
- Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and organization while managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Basic understanding and application of standard engineering or scientific theories, concepts, principles, and techniques.
- Proven ability to meet project deadlines and deliver technical solutions.
- Hands-on experience with laser systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to ask questions, make recommendations, and raise concerns.
- Excellent collaboration skills, fostering a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to perform various tasks as needed.
- Professional and regular communication with technicians, scientists, internal customers, department management, and suppliers.
- Commitment to safety, including experience leading safety upgrades and conducting risk assessments in a lab environment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Teams.
Education:
- Associates preferred but not required.
