Job Title: Phlebotomist Floater
Location: Waterbury, CT 06708
Duration: 3 months+ / temp to hire
Shift: Very Hours. Monday to Friday availability between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
Float to: Float between Cheshire, Prospect, Waterbury and Southbury, CT.
Pay range: $20.24 – 22.00 per hour on w2 contract
Phlebotomy Certificate is Required.
Overview:
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the company, providing expert blood collection and specimen processing while delivering excellent patient care across multiple locations. This role supports high-volume and complex clients and may lead or mentor other staff on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled venipuncture and specimen handling following standard procedures.
- Float between locations (CheClient, Prospect, Waterbury, Southbury) to provide coverage as needed.
- Lead daily operations at assigned sites, guide other phlebotomists, and support onboarding of new employees.
- Serve as a resource for high-complexity or high-volume clients, coordinating with Sales, Lab, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
- Maintain high standards of patient interaction, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred in other locations).
- 3+ years in a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy setting preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and multitasking skills in high-volume environments.
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
