Job Title: Procurement Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL 60637 (Hybrid – Remote with one in-office visit per month)
Duration: 3 Months
Pay rate:- $25 - $30/hr on W2
Job Summary:
- The Procurement Analyst is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating procurement agreements, and ensuring that vendor partnerships align with business objectives. This role involves financial analysis, contract evaluation, and process optimization to support procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality service and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate purchase agreements within budgetary constraints, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
- Research market trends and vendor credibility to ensure optimal procurement decisions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to assess procurement needs and optimize supplier agreements.
- Analyze procurement data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders and invoices.
- Collaborate with accounts payable and finance teams to reconcile financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Utilize Excel and financial systems to generate reports and track procurement activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of business experience in procurement, finance, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education or familiarity with university administrative processes.
- Prior experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software such as Cognos, Tableau, or Oracle.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and databases.
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial systems.
