Job Title: Travel CT Tech - Radiology
Job Location: Louisville, KY
Job Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM), self-scheduling in 4-week increments, with call rotation (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM for STAT only)



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
  • Verifies patient identity and reviews the patient’s medical record for the appropriateness of the exam or procedure.
  • Interviews patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assesses risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and/or psychological indicators.
  • Explains procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
  • Sets up equipment and acquires appropriate images as per script.
  • Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents exceptions from established protocols, and communicates data to the radiologist.
  • Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as appropriate.
  • Provides physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
  • Participates in process improvement activities within the radiology practice, including but not limited to quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
  • Provides imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
  • Able to take call/standby as required by the department.
  • May perform the duties of a Radiologic Technologist, as needed.

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.

Licensure & Certifications:

  • ARRT certification in Radiology and CT Tech (must be attached to the submission packet).
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be attached to the submission packet).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Radiology and CT experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience with Client Client Project & Client portable x-ray machines.
