How Will You Make an Impact?
- Manage material flows from receiving, through manufacturing, and on to distribution within the facility.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate between procurement, manufacturing, and receiving to keep products stocked and manufacturing lines fed with the correct materials.
- Assist in organization of work assignments, training of employees, paperwork completion and review, AS400 computer transactions, and file maintenance.
What Will You Do?
- Proactively drive, promote, and engage in our culture of Safety First.
- Maintain physical presence in warehouse, assigning work and providing leadership. Ensure compliance of duties set forth by department leadership.
- Encourage cooperation amongst Materials Handling employees and maintain cooperation with other departments.
- Maintain high level of understanding in all department processes and procedures so as to effectively audit and train assigned personnel.
- Coordinate material movements throughout facility and work closely with Procurement, Receiving, Manufacturing, Quality, and Distribution team members.
- Complete, correct, and/or file paperwork as required. This includes receiving documents, manufacturing documents, and shipping documents.
- Handle materials and company-provided equipment with caution in order to avoid damage to item or injury to self.
- Provide input about personnel’s progress for evaluations.
- Coordinate with appropriate staff in order to resolve any problems or potential problems.
- Operate and maintain forklift, observing operating procedures. Train / re-train assigned staff on forklift operation as needed.
- Receive and communicate verbal and written instructions given in the English language.
- Accept responsibility for department operation when Supervisor or Team Lead is unavailable.
- Complete needed paperwork by signing or writing with accuracy and neatness.
- Push/pull products on a cart with a maximum weight up to 400 pounds and push/pull a pallet jack with a maximum weight of 1500 pounds.
- Check own work and that of others as assigned for quality and safety performance, completing any additional steps to prepare/finalize procedures.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and efficiently with little supervision, communicating verbally or in writing any discrepancies as needed.
- Lift up to 63 pounds from floor to waist and lift up to 54 pounds from floor to shoulder height on a regular basis using step ladder as needed.
- Walk and stand up to six (6) hours at a time, up to 12 hours a day, with frequent squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and twisting at waist, with occasional climbing on foot stool.
- Fill out forms as needed, producing neat handwriting and legible signature.
- Keep work area clean and free of debris, packaging materials, shipping cartons, etc.
- Arrive to work on time and work during scheduled work hours, working overtime and weekends as needed.
- Report any actual or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist, or Senior Management.
- In addition, other duties may be assigned as the need arises.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
How Will You Get Here?
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Cherry Pickers / Order Pickers.
- Experience using RF scanners.
- Prior experience in leadership role preferred.
- Possess basic knowledge of English and math and ability to read.
- Possess good number recognition abilities.
- Possess organization skills.
- Maintain powered industrial truck certification.
