Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

• Assists with the examination and treatment of patients/participants under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse.
• Performs select clinical duties.
• Interviews patients/participants, measures vital signs, and records information on patients/participants charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients/participants.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions such as ordering and stocking of supplies.
• Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Must be experienced in vaccines, EKG, procedure prep, venti puncture, monitoring vitals and injections.
• 1 years minimum.
• Pure Phlebotomist will not work.

Required Certifications:

• BLS Provider certification.

Complexity of Work:

• Within Product of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Schedule:

• Rotating shifts assigned to the physician's schedule.
• Candidates will work a 40 hour work week and will be required to work a late night.
