Job Title: Phlebotomist Floater
Duation: 3 Months
Location: Nanuet, NY
Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30am-4pm / Alternate Sat 8am-12pm
Job Description:
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company to patients across multiple healthcare settings, whether for routine care or complex health evaluations. This advanced-level position is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established protocols. The Float Phlebotomist fosters a professional, trusting atmosphere by skillfully and safely performing procedures, often in high-volume or specialty environments. Additionally, this role involves supporting multiple locations, mentoring staff, onboarding new clients, and collaborating across departments, demonstrating leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to confidentiality and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities across various clinical settings, including PSCs, IOPs, long-term care, and mobile phlebotomy locations.

Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and staff at all assigned sites.

Collect forensic and clinical specimens confidently and accurately, following all regulatory procedures.

Provide training, mentorship, and onboarding support to new staff and act as a site resource and point of contact.

Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all patient interactions and sample handling.

Manage complex patient or client cases, requiring collaboration with departments such as Sales, IT, Billing, and Logistics.

Exhibit strong leadership behaviors and contribute feedback to group leads or supervisors regarding site operations.

Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality, safety, and specimen accuracy.
Job Requirements:
-
Ability to perform high-volume, error-free work across multiple locations and environments.
-
Ability to work independently while providing guidance to others on site.

Outstanding phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially when managing high-complexity patient accounts.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage as required.
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED

Medical assistant or paramedic training PREFERRED
- Phlebotomy certification PREFERRED
Work Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years phlebotomy experience REQUIRED, including pediatric and geriatric draws

Minimum of 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment PREFERRED
-
Experience in customer service, retail, or similar service environments PREFERRED
-
Proficient in keyboard/data entry systems
