Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Saint Paul, MN
Job Duration: 3 months of Contract with (temp-to-hire)
Shift: Mon - Fri, 40/hrs. week. The shifts can start as early as 7:00 am and end as late as 7:00 pm. (8/hrs. day)
Payrate: $28/hr. on W2
Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative III (PSR III) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing high-quality phlebotomy services in a professional, safe, and compassionate manner.
- This role involves drawing and processing blood specimens, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, and creating a positive patient experience.
- The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strong customer focus while supporting multiple locations based on business needs.
- Assignments may include physician offices, patient service centers, or in-office phlebotomy locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, forensic, pediatric, and geriatric specimen collection using established procedures.
- Properly label specimens in the patient’s presence and verify patient identification, demographics, and signatures post-collection.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation and required records.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Adapt to changing schedules, locations, and staffing needs with minimal notice.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification required.
- Strong customer service skills (retail or service environment preferred).
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent phlebotomy and specimen handling skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Superior customer focus with clear, professional communication.
- Sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.
- Ability to adapt quickly and embrace change.
Schedule & Flexibility:
- Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.
- Shifts may begin as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 7:00 PM.
- Travel required to multiple locations with minimal notice.
