Planner Scheduler
Job Title: Planner/Scheduler
Location: Tampa, FL 33602
Duration: 6 Months
Position Overview:
The Planner/Scheduler supports daily operations within the department related to materials management, inventory accuracy, and controls for the Storm Protection Program (SPP). This role ensures the timely planning, coordination, and execution of construction-related tasks, materials issuance, and inventory management to support field operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work Request Administration and Coordination (40%)
- Finalize and initiate work requests, including follow-up activities.
- Reconcile material issues with ED Stores and Plant Accounting.
- Support the planning, logistical coordination, and scheduling of SPP operations.
- Monitor material and equipment availability to ensure job readiness.
- Assist in optimizing construction-related resources across planning and scheduling teams.
Job Planning and Contractor Material Management (40%)
- Assist in developing and validating job plans (sequence, labor estimates, material/equipment needs, and coordination requirements).
- Manage issuance of materials to contractors and conduct proactive audits at contractor storage yards.
- Ensure materials are available and issued on time to meet operational demands.
- Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines for material storage, inventory control, and reconciliation of contractor work requests.
Scheduling and Workload Support (20%)
- Prepare a weekly four-week look-ahead schedule and participate in planning meetings.
- Coordinate the handoff of construction documentation to ED Operations (e.g., work requests, job plans, maps, permits).
- Assist Project Managers, SPP Design, and contractor partners in quantifying and validating workload (e.g., job readiness and resource availability).
- Coordinate and conduct inventory audits, maintain records, and process corrections and write-offs.
- Support ad hoc research, record keeping, and budget tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintain and publish departmental metrics. Assist with petty cash, timekeeping, and budget administration.
Supervision:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Planner-Schedulers, Area Managers, Operations & Field Engineering Supervisors, Crew Members, Field Engineers, System Operators, Stores and Materials Management.
External:

Qualifications:
Education (Required):
- High School Diploma or GED
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of operations experience in underground and overhead distribution construction.
- Experience must show progression in responsibility and complexity.
- A college degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
- Direct experience in distribution operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
Required:
- Strong understanding of construction, maintenance, and operations for transmission and distribution systems.
- Knowledge of standard practices and materials used in electric delivery operations.
- Familiarity with client Electric’s Safe Work Practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in GIS, work management systems (e.g., WORKPro), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of CIS (Customer Information System).
