Job Title: EKG Technician
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212
Duration: 3 Months + (With Possible extension)
Pay Rate: $24/ hr. on w2 (Negotiable)
Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; rotating weekends (one weekend day Saturday or Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum three (3) months experience as an EKG Technician
- Ability to perform ECG tests and place various cardiac device monitors
- Ability to obtain and document patient vital signs
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential patient information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to document and communicate patient observations and outcomes of care in EMR systems
- Ability to operate a computer
- Ability to adapt to changes in office procedures (Infinitt, EPIC)
- Demonstrated professionalism
- Ability to work alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma
Job Summary:
- Performs 12-lead ECG tracing tests.
- Recognizes abnormal ECG rhythm tracings and notifies appropriate personnel.
- Performs ECGs ordered by providers in various departments throughout the hospital.
- Ensures proper patient positioning, preparation, and electrode placement for all procedures.
- Obtains and documents patient vital signs prior to ECG testing.
- Explains procedures and answers patient questions before, during, and after ECG testing.
- Educates patients on the use of cardiac arrhythmia monitors, including symptom documentation.
- Performs proper placement and documentation of cardiac arrhythmia monitors.
- Stocks, cleans, and restocks ECG equipment and carts daily.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, including emergency duties as required.
